What is a Topponcino??

A topponcino, also known as a "Montessori baby pillow" or "security pillow," is a soft, mobile mattress designed to provide comfort, support, and consistency for infants during their first few months. It helps create a familiar and secure environment for your baby.

2. What materials are used in the CozyKidz Topponcino?

Our topponcinos are made from 100% natural cotton, ensuring a soft, breathable, and gentle surface for your baby's delicate skin. We prioritize using non-dyed, natural materials to avoid irritation.

3. What are the dimensions of the topponcino?

The dimensions of our topponcino are 61cm x 41cm x 2.5cm, making it perfect for newborns.

4. What colors are available?

Our topponcinos come in an elegant White color and Warm Gray. We are currently working on making a Pink topponcino out of natural cotton.

8. How do I clean the Topponcino?

External cover: The topponcino cover is removable and can be machine washed in cold water or hand washed to prevent shrinking. Can be Ironed at medium temperature

Internal Padding: Spot clean only. Do not machine wash as the cotton will reshape. Ironing is not recommended.

Avoid using Bleach.

6. Can my baby sleep on the topponcino?

The topponcino is suitable for supervised naps but should not be used as a replacement for a baby mattress or for unsupervised sleeping.

7. How does the topponcino support family bonding?

The topponcino makes it easier and safer for all family members, including siblings and grandparents, to hold and bond with the baby. Its supportive design ensures proper head support and minimizes the startle reflex.

5. What age range is the topponcino suitable for?

The topponcino is typically used from birth to about 3 months. It can also serve as a playmat and tummy time surface for older infants.

Recommended Age: From birth to about 3 months.

Sleep: Not intended for unsupervised sleep or as a mattress replacement.

Supervision: The CozyKidz Topponcino is designed for supervised use only.

• Do not use in cots, bassinets, or other enclosed areas.

• Always follow national guidelines regarding Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) to ensure your baby’s safety.

• Direct supervision is required at all times. Never leave your baby unattended on the Topponcino.

• Always place your baby on their back while using the Topponcino to reduce the risk of SIDS.

• Do not place pillows or blankets on the Topponcino.

• Always use the Topponcino on a flat, firm, and stable surface.

• Ensure it is placed where your baby cannot fall.

• Keep the Topponcino away from walls or vertical structures to prevent entrapment.

• Do not use if damaged.

• Keep away from open flames.

Note from Red Nose Australia:
Pillows are not recommended in the sleep environment for infants and toddlers under two years of age due to the increased risk of Sudden Unexpected Death in Infancy (SUDI), including SIDS. For awake infants, ensure they are supervised by an adult caregiver.

Sleep-Related Hazards from Product Safety Australia:
Many infant products, including pillows, can pose risks such as suffocation, entrapment, or strangulation. Risks increase with products that position infants in inclined, propped, or restrained positions. Soft and padded surfaces, like pillows, can prevent infants from turning or lifting their heads to breathe freely if they roll over.
